Indian Summer Beanie Pattern

My favorite design so far is this slouchy beanie with a lace plume motif. And by slouchy I mean "long." It can be worn many different ways: messy and scrunched up, the top part left floppy, and rolled up once or twice. I like my hats to stay on my head. I am all for slouch and the beret look but the brim needs to be snug. Using a smaller needle size for the ribbing makes it super stretchy and maneuverable. It's perfect for the end of summer and throughout the fall season. The Alpaca Prima gives it a lightweight breathable quality while still being soft and cozy. This is an easy intermediate lace pattern that is knit in the round.

Sizing:
Standard (s/m) circumference stretches to 23 inches.
Wide (m/l) circumference stretches to 25 inches.
Length measures 13 inches.

Materials needed:
1 skein of Plymouth Yarn Alpaca Prima or approx. 250 to 300 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Size 2 16" circular needle.
Size 4 16" circular needle.
Size 4 double pointed needles.
Tapestry needle.
Stitch marker.

This pattern is for personal use only.

  1. I've been eyeing this pattern on Ravelry lately - it's gorgeous! I love the slouchiness :-) I definitely want to knit this sometime after the holidays.
